Acting Fundamentals and Shakespeare (3rd-12th)
with Marcia Barryte
Ages: 8 - 18
All The World's A Stage!
In this fun 13-week class you will learn some new words, meet some fascinating characters and experience a world of stories that have survived over 500 years of history. Shakespeare's comedies, tragedies, romances, and histories contain storylines, that still speak wisely to us today. This course will go from insults to compliments, Elizabethan style, through history, language, conflict, resolution, emotions, and life advice. These are acting classes that will require full physical participation. Building on selections from A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Julius Caesar, students will develop an understanding of verse, character, and stagecraft while discovering the joy of bringing Shakespeare’s words to life. The course culminates in two short play performances, giving students the opportunity to share their learning and creativity with an audience.

High School Biology Lab Supplement
with Kay Yang-Stayner
Ages: 14 - 18
Due to limited class time in the regular biology course, this once-a-month, after-school lab supplement allows students to complete hands-on experiments in a dedicated 1.5-hour session under a teacher’s guidance. Designed to accompany Modern Biology using The Apprentice’s Companion for General Biology, this program provides the essential laboratory component required for high school biology credit.
Students will engage in meaningful laboratory work—forming hypotheses, collecting and analyzing data, creating graphs and sketches, and reflecting on their findings. Experiments use accessible, everyday materials while still fostering a deep understanding of scientific principles.
